"No One Else"

No one else will know... what will be the fate
of this song, a song that we have just managed to release
together on a single entitled NIKT POZA NAMI (NO ONE ELSE).
The beautiful music composed by Maciek Grzywacz has inspired
me to write a text partly about love and partly reflexive.
Marek Kuczyński, a film and theatre music composer , has presented
his new artistic face with his modern and original remix.
The graphics has been taken care of by Beatka Czerepak. The
cover she has created makes us so proud. This is really something
to look at! The whole thing has been released by befriended
Wojtek Staroniewicz's company "Allegro". We are really happy
that together, thanks to a friendly help and involvement,
we have done a piece of really good work. What's next? We'll
see, or hear rather. We have just had our premiere on Radio
Three. Mr Marek Niedżwiecki has scored our song very highand
so have the other radio stations, some of them even very enthusiastically.
Hopefully a record will come out of that? ...that woudl be
just great!

The record in not for sale but the mp3 files
may be downloaded and listened to without limitation.
Songs by Wanda Staroniewicz
(Salon Du¶ki i Wojtka)
"Papierowe Pałace"
Here is a record containing 18 best songs by Wanda Staroniewicz
and Wojciech Staroniewicz, recorded and broadcast by the Polish
Radio and TV.
They were both born and live in Sopot, a city whose specific,
perhaps a little nostalgic, fable-like atmosphere has played a
role in the creation of these pieces. The songs were recorded
in 1970s, when the "Salon Du¶ki i Wojtka" ("The Du¶ka's and Wojtek's
salon"), famous all over Poland, was open at the student club
"Żak" in Gdańsk. It was a place where artists representing various
fields of art met. however, it was the song that had always played
the major part there.
The melodious and poetry-filled ballads belong to the stream
of author song created in those times also by Elżbieta Adamiak,
Jacek Cygan or Wojciech Bellon.
Most of the songs have remained in their original versions.
Only some of tehm have been enriched with additional instruments.
The song entitled "Skrzypek z zielon± twarz±" ("A Violinist with
a Green Face") was recorded in November 2001.

"Why would I recommend this record? I'll give you
the simplest possible answer. The ballads and songs by the Staroniewicz
siblings belong to the type of sung lyrics that not only touches
us and makes us reflect, but also gives us real pleasure in having
contact with the climate of the time that has stopped, the poetry
of unusual places and characters, and - finally - the music, which
so delicately yet deeply co-creates the landscape of these two
artists. Their work is a continuation of the best traditions of
Polish poetic music."
